Winter Storm Breach at Round Hill Estate
During the January 2023 nor’easter, a 50-foot section of temporary perimeter fencing collapsed under heavy snow and wind at a Round Hill renovation site. Ice glazed the ground, and gusts howled through the Gilded Age oaks, leaving exposed excavation and high-value materials vulnerable. With neighbors just 30 yards away and strict HOA visibility rules, the general contractor faced potential fines and work stoppage if the site wasn’t secured before dawn inspection.
We dispatched a two-man crew within 90 minutes of the call, using our tracked skid-steer to navigate the icy slope without damaging historic landscaping. By 4:15 a.m., we’d installed 60 linear feet of reinforced wind-rated chain-link with weighted bases, all anchored to avoid underground utilities marked by the estate’s original 1910 blueprints. The site passed inspection, and framing resumed that same morning.
Gold Coast had the right gear and local knowledge to fix it fast—without tearing up century-old grounds.
